Transport Fever 3 mods ship through a cross-platform in-game browser on mod.io, not through Steam Workshop. PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series share that library, which is why Workshop is missing from Steam's category list even though a level editor is present. A paid Curated Mods Program funds day-one quality packs so consoles are not staring at an empty browser on 29 September.

If you came from Transport Fever 2 expecting a Steam Workshop subscribe button, that path is gone. Subscribe, update and share from inside the game. Custom maps from the editor use the same browser. Urban Games has not published a public list of curated pack names, so no node-count figure is listed.

Steam lists a level editor and Family Sharing but not Workshop. Subscribe inside the game on PC and consoles. Curated packs seed the browser on 29 September so a PS5 or Xbox shelf is not empty. Transport Fever 2 Workshop IDs do not carry over; rebuild maps for the new classes and sliders. Official Steam, FAQ and news posts are the numbers and names used throughout; unpublished rows stay unpublished. The in-game browser is the subscribe button, the update button and the share button for maps from the editor.

Why Steam Workshop is gone

Consoles cannot use Steam Workshop. Urban Games chose one in-game browser so a cargo tram pack or a handmade subarctic map can exist on Steam, GOG, PS5 and Xbox without a second toolchain. Steam's own category list confirms the change: single-player, achievements, full controller support, level editor, Family Sharing — and no Workshop tag. That missing tag is the policy, not an oversight in the store copy.

mod.io is the backend named in official support and news posts. You still need the in-game UI to subscribe; subscription happens in the game, inside the game client. Account rules, payment for curated packs and rating tools live on Urban Games' and mod.io's side, not in a third-party Steam collection.

Family Sharing and mods are both listed, but the official FAQ does not explain whether a shared copy inherits another user's subscriptions. Do not assume Workshop-style family behaviour. Check the in-game browser on the copy you actually launch. Paid curated packs check out inside that browser, not on Steam Workshop.

Curated Mods Program

Urban Games announced a Curated Mods Program that pays for day-one quality packs. The goal stated in official news is to seed the browser so console players and PC players see finished content instead of an empty shelf at launch. Pack names, prices and authors were not in the official posts, so they are not listed here.

Curated does not mean 'only official'. It means a funded quality bar at launch. Community mods can still appear through the same browser after you opt into whatever filters the UI ships with. Until that UI is public, treat 'Curated' as a program name, not as a folder on this site.

Do not paste Transport Fever 2 Workshop IDs into a TF3 expectation list. Vehicle counts, cargo names and industry ratios from TF2 are the wrong game. Maps and scripts will need to be rebuilt for TF3's classes, sliders and mixed biomes. Helicopters and cargo trams did not exist in that Workshop catalogue, so even a favourite TF2 tram pack is a rebuild.

Map editor and sharing

The in-game map editor handles heightmaps, sculpting, painting and vegetation. Sharing is through the mod browser, not through a Steam Workshop file page. That is the same path on consoles, which is the point of dropping Workshop. Linux and Mac Steam copies use that browser too.

A custom mixed-biome map with an oil platform and a temperate town is a legal share as far as Urban Games describes it. It is not a substitute for the eight campaign missions, and it will not unlock Deluxe vehicles. Deluxe content still comes from the edition SKU. Curated packs can add maps without changing that rule.

There is no Urban Games statement that TF2 maps import cleanly. Plan to rebuild. If a converter appears as a curated or community mod after launch, it will show up in the in-game browser, not as a silent Steam overlay. Until then, treat TF2 saves as reference, not as files you drop into TF3. Day-one curated packs exist so a PS5 or Xbox browser is not empty on 29 September. Community maps still arrive through that same list after launch. TF2 Workshop IDs do not subscribe here. Subscribe, update and unsubscribe from inside the game client on every storefront, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Steam, GOG and the named Epic SKU.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my Transport Fever 2 Workshop subscriptions?

No published path copies TF2 Workshop items into TF3. Mods use a new in-game browser on mod.io so PC and consoles share one library. Rebuild maps and packs for TF3's vehicle classes, cargo rules and climates. Steam Workshop is not a listed category on the TF3 store page.

Will consoles get mods on day one?

That is the reason Urban Games funded a Curated Mods Program and put the browser in the game instead of on Steam. Official posts describe day-one quality packs for the shared library. Individual pack names were not in the official posts, so no console storefront list appears here.
